Who doesn't like flowers
A common weed yes or no? This was a Dandielion in my yard this Spring. I got in close and Voila!
The almighty Canadian Maple Leaf
There's not really much to describe here. I walked out my front door, kept going for about 15 steps to the end of my driveway and saw this. It's one of my favorites though. I like the color in it.
The Village of Mont Saint Sauveur, Quebec
Taken from the chairlift of the Mont Saint Sauveur ski hill. My hubby had some friends come up to see the wonderful fall colors and I managed to snap this on our way up the hill on the chairlift. The Laurentian mountains are beautiful in the fall.
Banff National Park
On a visit to Calgary 2 years ago I was lucky enough to get to the Canadian Rockies for the first time ever. I fell in love with it. The mountain range was much more impressive then what I was used to in the Laurentians. The weather was perfect when I was there and it made it very easy to stay out side and enjoy the breath taking view from atop Sulphur Mountain. On my next trip out there I hope to get to stay at the world renowned Banff Springs Resort and Spa.
Winter Oaks
I purposely waited until the street light came on to go stand in the snow piled in my front yard to get this picture. I wanted it to be a warm yet stark image showing lots of detail in the snow gathered on the leaf that never fell of my oak tree. Something about this picture really grabs me. It's one of my personal favourites and hangs in my dinning room.
Montreal, Quebec
A trash can, I know. Not your normal standard choice for an image. But I saw it and decided to make in interesting by playing with the shadows in the snow and depicting lighting. It was submitted as a class assignment to show side lighting. If you look closely you can see the city of Montreal's logo on the metal ring. It was taken at Mount-Royal this winter.
Playing with Fire
I was looking for different lighting techniques and wanted to try candle light as I had never used it before. I am quite pleased with my results and even have this one printed and displayed on my mantle.
Niagara Falls, Ontario
I just love this one. I took it on a vacation with my kids a few years ago. It was their first time to Niagara Falls and they had a blast. What a great place for a weekend getaway for anyone with kids. A bit on the pricey side when I went but well worth it to visit at least once. The falls are awesome at night with the lights and the main street has so much colour and life that you can't help but get swept up in it all. I think I smiled the entire time I was there. It was that good.
