Lac Simon, Quebec
This was taken early Spring before the families take over this wonderful hidden gem of a vacation spot. It was a sunny day and the hubby and I wanted to go play with his RC boat so as always I brought along my camera and thankfully so. I took lots of wonderful pictures that day.
Banff National Park
Photo taken at Banff National Park in Alberta. An impressive view of some of the most spectacular mountains I have ever visited. The drive through the park was equally as enchanting and the local wild life adds to the overall experience of your visit. Definitely a must have on your "Bucket List" in life.
Ste.Adele, Quebec
A photo opp too good to pass up. I went for a walk along the North River in Ste.Adele, Quebec and came across what looked very much to me like a big old scary croc hiding. Turns out it was just some weather beaten trees that had fallen. LOL. I pointed the camera and VOILA, a perfectly tamed croc!
Lake Achigan, Quebec
Spring has sprung in Quebec. The lakes are thawing and the sun is shinning. This is a more recent picture from the last real-estate session I did. I walked out of the client's sitting room onto a view like no other. After the cold and dreary winter it was refreshing to hear the birds chirping in the empty oak tree to my left and to have the sun hit my face like a warm hug. Although the lake is still cold and empty, in the summer this lake is alive with with families playing with their kids on various beaches and the water is a spectacular show of colorful boats and wind surfers.
St-Sauveur-Des-Monts, Quebec
This is my favourite tree in my yard. In the Spring this tree is covered in the smallest white blossoms and then it gets so full of leaves that it offers me the perfect hide out. Once the tree is full I drag my lounging chair under it and I am shaded from the sun and out of view. It's a place where I can go enjoy a quiet glass of wine, or just a warm cup of coffee in the morning before the kids and the hubby wake up. It's my private getaway.
St-Sauveur-Des-Monts, Quebec
A babbling brook in the dead heat of summer, a raging river in the spring run off, a muddy mess of muck in the fall, but a beautiful quiet creek in the hands of winter. The creek never did fully freeze over, even in the -30 weather. It just stayed quiet and peaceful. Most days barely moving and imitating a reflection like that of the most expensive mirrors made. This is the creek that runs in my back yard. It serves as a play ground for my children when the weather is hot and it's also a great place for them to experience tadpoles, and bugs and other creepy crawly things.
Super Moon in March 2011.
Although I am not crazy about this one particular image. I had to include it as it was the first time I had ever managed to capture the orange peel effect that the moon has.
Lake Placid, NY
This was taken a few years ago on a trip to Lake Placid, NY for a Bodine Bobsled event. Several NASCAR drivers participated in raising money for the Bodine Bobsled Program for the American bobsled teams. It was VERY,VERY cold and the batteries in my camera were freezing up before I could even shoot an entire roll. Yes, this was taken back in the days of film!. It was in towards the top of the climb for the bobsled track at their olympic park. Seeing the entire Olympic village was fairly neat experience. I have seen the Montreal one but this one was different in it's own way. A worthwhile weekend trip if you are into scenic mountains and friendly locals.
Old Port of Quebec, Quebec City
On a whim my hubby and I decided to get in the car and go for a drive to the Old Port in Quebec City. It was August and we had some time off work so we spent 3 hours in the car getting there and then sat in traffic and finally arrived at the port. Despite the fact that it was vacation season the port was rather quiet. It was a so-so day weather wise and so maybe that helped with the crowd control. My first time ever going there. We spent a few hours just walking around and enjoying the scenery. We went to 2 museum exhibits and sat on the wall along side the canal to take in the local architecture.
Mount-Royal, Montreal, Quebec
This is taken at one of the many lookout spots on Mount-Royal. It was so cold out the day that I went. But I still managed to shoot well over 200 shots while I was there. But I was happy to return to the warmth of my car after being there for about only 1 hour.
